@fweidemann14 Podcasts work incredibly well, precisely because they're decentralized. Every major app has search and discovery features included. And everyone can just start a new podcast. There is no managed walled garden. No intrusive analytics. No app is forced upon you.

@fweidemann14 Spotify sets a precedent for a situation like movie streaming. Half a dozen platforms that control the content. It's incredible that I can have all podcasts in one place despite all of them being hosted on different services. Even self-hosted is possible.

@fweidemann14 Not to speak of the classic issue: Should a platform be allowed to use it itself? Like Amazon abusing all the analytics to create products that directly compete with other manufacturers? A third party podcast creator might have a hard time against first party Spotify podcasts.
