    1. Microsoft pretty much owns the frontend by now. This move probably saved npm's future. But I would've liked to see npm converting into a foundation. We need federated tools—not monopolies. @github/1239597562614726656

    At least ECMAScript isn't owned by any one big business. So the language remains independent of all corporate shenanigans. I know why I'm staying away from TypeScript…
